A personal note from Linda:

If you have been harassed, groped or assaulted in the workplace, I support you. And I’m sorry it happened to you too. I was assaulted by Tom Brokaw while I was a correspondent at NBC News.

First of all, I want to reassure you that the trauma you experienced is very real. Harassment is dehumanizing and leaves lasting scars. If we are going to make the workplace safe for women, we need to speak out and help employers understand this.

If you were harassed at NBC News and wish to connect confidentially, you can contact me via this webpage. If you were harassed at any news organization and would like the confidential, emotional support of the whisper network of fellow survivors, I can connect you.

Also, I am proud to support Press Forward, a nonprofit group of harassment survivors from the journalism industry. These ladies were incredibly supportive to me when I needed it, and they are working to create real and lasting change in newsrooms. I encourage you to learn more about them at www.thepressforward.org.

It has been well documented that sexual harassment is pervasive throughout many industries, not just media. I am not a lawyer, but my personal word to you is that no matter where you work, if you need help here are some organizations ready to assist you. You can click on the icons below for more information. Know that I stand with you.
